The ONSEN ISLAND KYUSHU brand logo mark represents the blessings of nature created by volcanos and people’s warm spirit of hospitality. It also incorporates our desire that, by experiencing the myriad attractions to be found in Kyushu including nature and food, onsen and locals’ human warmth, you will feel a joy that will bring a smile to your face as your relax. Together with the brand concept “An island that makes you SMILE every time you visit”, the logo's purpose is aim to fulfill the role of disseminating this image of Kyushu to the world.
The crescent moon shape at the bottom expresses the appearance of the “Beautiful, azure sea”, the mountain shape above the “Mountains lush with verdure” and from there the “Bountiful treasures of the mountains and seas”, the “warm spirit of hospitality” amongst others.
After a new evaluation of the attractions of Kyushu as a travel destination, we came up with three major values (salient features) based on concrete facts and special demands. These inimitable values can be seen as strengths that are inherent to Kyushu and set it apart from tourist cities in Japan and the world.
