Harazuru Onsen is located in Asakura City, Fukuoka. Along with Chikugo River, there are 15 onsen ryokan and it is one of the biggest hot spring towns in Fukuoka.
Its spring quality is unique. It is rare to have two kinds of spring quality, both alkalescent simple spring and sulfur spring. It is called a hot spring of double beautiful skin. Alkalescent spring has an effect of removing old keratin while sulfur spring is said to remove melanin of corneum. Skin whiting effect is also expected from this spring. This is why it is called a hot spring of double beautiful skin.
There are various kinds of activities in each season that you can enjoy with families. Harazuru Onsen is located in Asakura City where there are some attractions such as places for cherry blossom, maple trees, fruit picking and pottery making. They will fully meet your satisfaction for tours.

If you want to make a 1N2D trip from Fukuoka city, I do recommend Harazuru Onsen. They say Harazuru is an annex, as it were, to Fukuoka and the hot spring water quality is highly reputable. I tried to bathe in Onsen 3times and it was very good just as rumored My skin became really smooth!
Not so many amusements around the town, it’s surrounded by river and fruit farm. You can just feel relax with Onsen.

Event／Cormorant Fishing

A Typical seasonal event in summer of Chikugo River is cormorant fishing, a traditional fishing method. People catch fish with help of birds, cormorants. From May 20th to the end of September is the fishing season in Chikugo River, you can enjoy watching cormorant fishing from a boat. We have the only-one female cormorant fisher in Kyushu, and her elegant and good hands are fascinating.

Gourmet／Freshwater Fish Cuisine

Harazuru local speciality is sweetfish that you can enjoy in a season of cormorant fishing. It’s easy to eat among freshwater fish and fresh grilled one is really great. It is usually used for a meal at ryokan and it’s also delicious for tempura. Please enjoy the taste.
