Futsukaichi Onsen is located in Chikushino City, Fukuoka. It is called “Suita no yu”, “Yakushi onsen” or “Musashi onsen” in old times and named “Futsukaichi onsen” in 1950. This hot spring has a history of more than 1300 years and it was known as the only hot spring in Fukuoka until around 100 years ago. A great writer, Soseki Natsume composed a haiku, “The hot spring town is lively as if people are doing the Bon Festival dance.” This haiku told us that it was lively hot spring town.
　Although nowadays it is not very big as a hot spring town, it’s popular as a tourist spot because there are some attractions such as Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine that is known as a god of learning, Buzo-ji Temple that is located at the foot of a mountain and known as the oldest temple in Kyushu and Kyushu National Museum. Some interesting high-end ryokan remain where cultured people and famous people stayed.
　Its spring quality is alkaline simple thermal radioactive spring and has an effect on neuralgia and skin disease.

My priority of travel was shopping in Fukuoka area, but also wanted to try bathing in Onsen! My friend recommended me to visit Futsukaichi Onsen, because the location is really convenient and it takes just 20 mins from Fukuoka city area. I stayed at historical Ryokan (Japanese inn) and it was amazing experience as if I made time trip to past. I want to be back with my parents next time!
