

City streets in Tenjin are lighted by the illumination during this season. At Kego Koen Park, a more elaborated "Chapel on the Water" will appear.
The embossed light patterns of the illumination around the chapel will create a fantastic atmosphere.

You'll find long‐established inns of distinctive character and public hot spring (onsen) bathhouses like the Hakata Yu (Hakata Bathhouse), housed in a three-story wooden building, lending a unique nostalgic atmosphere to the old city streets. You'll also be placed for a stop on the way to the Tenmangu shrine in Dazaifu or before-and-after mountain climbing on Tenpaizan (Mt. Tenpai), well known in association with a famous noble of the Heian period, Sugawara-no-Michizane.

"Motsu" means giblets (excluding the liver), entrails , beef, etc., are usually used.
The giblets covered with vegetables like cabbage are cooked with takanotsume (Capsium annuum) in a miso or soy sauce base, richly spiced with garlic.

The trees lining the main street in front of the JR Saga Station are illuminated for a length of approximately 1.5 km. The fantastic lighting illuminates the entire urban area. Various events, such as art displays with works contributed by the general pubic and street-corner musical performances, are held during the illumination period.

It is said that Furuyu Hot Spring was discovered about 2,100 years ago, when the Jofuku set out on a search for herbs granting eternal life which was guided to Furuyu by an oracle. The spring is categorized as an alkaline simple hot spring, and is popular for the effects on joint pains. The slightly slimy hot spring water is colorless, has no odor or taste and since it's lukewarm, you can relax until you're warm to the core.

This year, there's a new menu at Furuyu hot springs, and it's unique to the area! Fresh vegetables grown in Fuji-cho are wrapped in cheese, brimming with calcium, vitamins and protein. It's highly recommended!

The city of light will start a new journey with the loved ones.
Thoughts of so many have turned into "light"again this year, illuminating the entire city.

Hirado Onsen is a place with many remains such as old mercantile house buildings, old churches, castles,and is bathed in an exotic atmosphere. When the Hirado flounder is in season during January - April, accommodations at Hirado Onsen can provide all you need to enjoy the seasonal delights.

You can enjoy all sorts of delicacies. The dish called "guzoni", contains more than ten different ingredients, including yams, burdock, lotus root, napa cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, chicken, boiled fish paste, grilled conger eel, fried egg, crown daisy, and rice cakes.

This illumination event is held each year. At night, the church is set off by the light, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Additionally, a candle procession is held on Christmas Eve, December 24.

This hot-springs district is located on the west side of the Amakusa Islands, which is composed of over 100 separate islands. Spring is characterized by its hot water, which is clear colorless, odorless and tasteless, never diluted or overheated, and not rotated. It's been selected as the top 100 sunset of Japan, featured as the "Sunset over the East China Sea,".

A group of young hog farmers in Amakusa and Shimoda Onsen area developed a new brand pork based on their motto, "Secure and safe, direct from the farm." Surrounded by ocean and mountains, raised affectionately in a natural environment with a stress-free life, the meat is soft with splendid flavor.

Here, you can enjoy the fantastic winter landscape created in Beppu Park, where three giant trees are illuminated by more than 180,000 light bulbs. A variety of events are scheduled for the lighting ceremony on December 13.

Tenryo Hita prospered in the Edo period as the center of culture and economy in Kyushu. The city is characterized by its streetscape, in which the city streets are laid out following a grid pattern lined with traditional wooden terraced houses and canal. When strolling in the Mameda-machi district, you'll feel as if you've been transported back to the old Edo period. The simple thermal has an effect on the treatment of modern stress-related ailments, including rheumatism and nerve pain, and overcoming fatigue.

This dish features a lavish portion of meat from Oita Prefecture and vegetables harvested in Hita. Every restaurant has its own special menu, so you'll have a lot to choose from! The hot dishes of this winter cuisine will warm your heart as well as your body.

The Florante Miyazaki is vividly colored with flowers and light during this illumination event. Over 80,000 light bulbs have been used to create this spectacular site.

Aoshima Island has a long list of legendary myths. You'll find many hot springs in pristine locations providing excellent views of Aosima Island. As expected from a resort area on the coast, hot spring has a luxurious, open atmosphere. The wonders of nature will relieve everyday weariness of the heart and body, restoring harmony to your life.

At an event held by the National Competitive Exhibition of Wagyu (held once every five years), characterized as "The Olympics of Japanese Beef," Miyazaki beef won top prize (Cabinet Prime Minister's Prize) in both the stud and beef cattle categories. When thin slices of this prime beef are parboiled in a hot soup pot called shabu-shabu, it turns light pink ,turns soft and melt in your mouth.

Dolphin Port is a shopping center combined with halls and amusement facilities located in Kagoshima Harbor, southern entrance of Japan. Illuminated decorations shaped like cute dolphins, and trees bringing a special atmosphere to the harbor night. It's always special, but this year's show will be even better!

The general term for the hot-spring district raising clouds of steam in the Kirishima mountain range--which includes Mt. Karakuni, Mt. Shinmoe and Mt. Takachiho-no-mine--is the Kirishima hot spring village. It is said that the first honeymoon in Japan was a visited by Ryoma Sakamoto and his wife Oryo to Kirishima hot spring.

Long time ago, in the feudal domain of Satsuma, cockfighting was common as a means to raise the morale of the warriors. Method of cooking poultry was created using the chicken that lost and died in the fighting, so that the rustic warriors in the field could make a quick meal. This became known as satsumajiru (miso-flavored chicken and vegetable stew).
