The 10th Kyushu trip in 2016
Traveling is always a “need” to refresh and relax myself after the stressful work and drive for my life balance. The first time I visited Kyushu was more than 2 decades with my granny, it was definitely an old village with some beautiful sceneries came to my mind. After traveling in Tokyo, Osaka, Hokkaido and Okinawa, Kyushu has ever been the most popular traveling choices for me in Japan annually since 2008. It is always a good place to travel with family, friends or alone with the cleanness, beauty of nature, traditional culture, convenience, safeness, friendliness of locals and tones of uncountable exceptional experiences when you explore each of the prefectural (県).

Seeking Love in Nagasaki!
Many people knows Nagasaki for a not very pleasant reason, but it's no fault of the city really. However, I have to confess how Nagasaki emerged like a reborn phoenix from a devastated city into a sparkling pearl in the post war era made me captivated!
Hopefully my short post on Nagasaki can share more prominence what this city currently brings. Let us begin from Nagasaki Station!

The 3000 year-old tree
This tree is located in Takeo Shrine and it is believe to be over 3000 year-old. This tree has a height of 27 meters and the outer periphery of the root is 26 meters. This picture was taken around 20 meters away from the tree and I stood at it's root while taking it. The vital force of the tree is so strong that you will get stunned just by looking it. They also have a nickname for the tree which is called 武雄の大楠さん(Takeo's Okusu). This definitely a must visit if you happen to be in Saga.

"Finding me in Kyushu?"
Relaxing at a beach resort; pampering yourself at a spa, or joining a yoga retreat - these all are common ways we try to de-stress from our frantic modern city life, a life that seems to just spin on from one thing to another.
Originally from Hong Kong, I have also lived in New York, Shanghai, and Tokyo. So I believe I am quite a city person at the core. I had long heard about Kyushu's rich mix of nature and hospitality, but had never had the time to find out first hand... I was determined now to explore how Kyushu might offer a somewhat different way to unwind.

Kyushu Life 3 Months pass! But my journ…
Do you know we can change our visions by going out from our house to somewhere and exploring the world? Some people may interest in huge cities that have crowd of people but that's not me. I'm more interest in somewhere that have stories and Kyushu is one of the best place that I can go around to learn more about their story, remember it in my memory and also write it down in my blog (http://www.kazekim.com).
My journey started from October when I've arrived here in exchange student program for half a year. Let's see what's going on my last 3 months. What's happened in my new world and what I learn from my experience?

Food, Balloons, and Other Diversions
Kyushu is sometimes known as the "Food Island", and with good reason. Between the sweetest strawberries imaginable, trees bent with persimmons, Saga beef (served at the G8 summit), and internationally famous shochu- Needless to say, seize every opportunity to sample the food!
